P0305, to be exact. It's idling rough and driving kinda rough. Would changing filters, plugs and so on possibly fix the issue? It's a 2000 and had about 141k miles on it, if that helps.

Here's her portrait, for your time and consideration.

Cylinder 5 misfire. Start with that plug.

I knew what the code meant lol, but thanks. I will try that. I should probably replace all of them if I'm just going to replace one though, I suppose.

2000? Might be the ignition coil. My dads Odyssey is a 2000, and the coil failed this year due to age and possibly abuse. Do you let the tank get to nearly empty often?

At least pull that plug for inspection. Don't want to scare you but I've also seen broken valve springs and faulty injectors on these engines. But I wouldn't worry too much, single cylinder misfires are some of the easiest issues to diagnose and are rarely something major.

Probably best to do a full "stage 0" on the vehicle. So filters, plugs, wires, ignition coil, inspect the rubber hoses and replace as necessary.

At that age and mileage, yes you should replace the plugs and wires.

Don't know which engine you have in your Durango, but I know a good solid disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of the throttle body has cured wonders on my '98 Dakota with the 318. The idle air control valve and throttle position sensor are both in the throttle body, and they are known to be finicky in Dakota/Durangos. Also, if you do have a 318 or 360, a blown plenum gasket will cause some stumbling at idle. Neither of those would probably trip the code you're getting, but they can cause rough idle/driving rough.

I guess I should have mentioned, I have the 287 motor. I'll try what you suggested, as well aa stage 0 tune that was also suggested by someone. Thanks

Advance is cheapest, Autozone is middle and Napa is highest. I'd probably go simple Bosch or NGK sparkplugs spec'd for the vehicle. None of this 2 or 3 or 4 electrode crap.

Sure. But as others have said, pull the current sparkplug first and inspect the plug and the coil pack.

Oh, absolutely. I'm fairly sure they need replaced, but I will definitely look it all over.
